Citrix PVS 6.1 hotfix update automation script

UPDATED 6 August 2012! When you run the script multiple times, files will only be downloaded once. Backuped files is timestamped. Resolved issue with open files preventing streamservice and streamprocess update.

Updating PVS Server and Target is a very manual task. This script saves you some time when updating PVS hotfixes.

Note! This script is made for PVS on 2008 r2 x64 on server and target. Modifications are needed for other Windows versions.

The script currently updates the following hotfixes:

  • CPVS61E002
  • CPVS61E004
  • CPVS61E005
  • CPVS61E006
  • CPVS61E007
  • CPVS61E008
  • CPVS61E010

For PVS Servers:

Unzip the script to a local folder on the PVS server. Note! The script will restart the PVS Stream service!

For PVS Targets:

Mount the target VHD on the PVS server. Note the target drive letter. Modify the script “IMAGEDRIVE” with the correct drive letter. Run the script!

    • I know I could do this in Powershell, would probably be better for the future. It just started as simple batch script and grew more complex as patches arrived. I’ll be happy to get some help converting it to Powershell.
